See a Doctor: You may need to get a wrist X ray to rule out a broken bone.  Take some over the counter medication to help with the pain. Can use an ice pack and ace bandage to the wrist.

Trauma &amp; wrist pain: Falling on the wrist  may cause acute sprain or a fracture. If pain persisted Xray would be advisable to see your doctor

The wrist: is the MOST "COMPLICATED" joint in the body with 8 bones and MANY LIGAMENTS some of which can have PARTIAL or FULL TEARS after a fall particularly when you tried to "break" your fall with your hands!!!!
You need x rays and PERHAPS AN MRI study
DON'T NEGLECT these symptoms!!

Get it evaluated: It may help to get an ACE wrap to provide more support and to rest your arm on pillows with a bag of frozen vegetables over the area.  Follow the acronym RICE stands for rest, ice, compression and elevation.   An anti inflammatory such as Motrin or aleve (naproxen) may help.  But if pain is still very bad and/or swelling is occurring you should get the area examined and an X-ray to ensure no fracture.

Yes: Swelling pain localized tenderness of the bone or joint after injury needs to be examined by physician to check for fracture

X-ray : If you wrist is that sensitive it might be broken and should be xrayed. Go to your doctor or urgent care if you can't see an orthopedist directly.

Wrist pain: If you fell  get a x-ray. Could be tendinitis, carpal tunnel, De Quevains rarely could be arthritis or autoimmune manifestation. Have you tried motrin/ advil/ aleve (naproxen) if not allergic or a wrist splint or kinesiotape? Would consider those , no strenuous computer work or repetitive hand work over 2-5 days to  see if eases up  , but get an xray over next 1-2 days. f/u w/doc
