i have had a small movable bump under the skin in my shin for ten years. hasn't grown and no pain. a few other smaller bumps have developed since then on both shins. what could they be?

See your doctor: Your doctor could see if it is infectious folliculitis or if you have atopic dermatitis.  Depending on the circumstances of how it got there also affects how to treat it.  It may be from an injury or a razor burn, .

i have a big bump on my shin similar to a pimple. the skin on it is peeling, and it's tender to the touch. is this something i should get checked?

Yes: Could be an abscess or a cyst..Needs attention.

You need evaluation: starting with your Primary Care Provider sand perhaps a vascular physician....Your description sounds like an inflammatory disorder..Polyarteritis Nodosum "rings a bell"!  See a physician as soon as practicable!

i have a red, bump (like a mosquito bite) skin cancer on my shin.  are all bumpy/elevated skin cancers the deadly melanoma type, or not necessarily?

Not necessarily: There are 3 types of skin Cancers: The most common is called a Basal cell carcinoma(this is what you are most likely to have). Melanoma is less common and it usually has a brown or black color to it. But the best way to find out what you have is to go see your doctor(PCP). A dermatologist may be most appropriate if you can get an appointment soon(in 2 weeks or less).

8 weeks ago, doc saw tiny itchy bumps on my shin. she froze it w/ nit. ox. left hypopigment white skin patch. scar-gel, self-tanner don't help. advice?

Time: Give it a few more months to see if the pigments would return.  If still no pigment after a year, talk to your dermatologist to see what else you can try.

Leg lesion: You need to provide more information : the size, is it painful? is it red around the " whitehead"? 
It may be as simple as folliculitis, an inflammation of the hair follicle but please send more detailed description. Meanwhil do not squeeze it- put a warm compress on it and keep it clean

Drug reaction: This is not normal and may be a drug reaction or some other problem. If your skin is turning black, this is very worrisome. You should be seen by a doctor immediately.

: I assume injury wasn't the cause of the bumps. They could be inclusion cysts. If they are reddish&amp; tender it could be the start of a condition called erythema nodosum which sometimes follows a recent strep throat. A physician or dermatologist will have to inspect the bumps in order to make a diagnosis and advise you.
