Possible fracture: By your history, you certainly bruised your tailbone but it is possible if you hit it hard enough that you have a fracture in it. It would probably be wise to get in to know exactly where you stand. Applying cold compresses will help the discomfort. A anti-inflammatory like Aleve (naproxen) could help if no stomach or kidney issues. For further recommendations and diagnosis you should see your MD.

Depends: It depends on the type of work  if heavy lifting then you need to be cleared by surgeon  If sitting and light work you should be fine  If increased pain after the fall be seen but you should be able to return to work but check with your surgeon
