Listen to your body: You can begin to gently exercise when you are able to walk and bend without pain. Pay attention to your body, and stop your work out if the pain returns or gets worse during your work out.

When it feels ok: If you have a rib bruise, there is no medical reason you can't exercise. The limiting factor is pain. If you hurt too much, don't force it. Give yourself time to heal. When the exercises don't bother you more than you can take, go ahead and resume your normal exercise schedule. Hope this helps!

Are you not hurting-: Any more? If you are not having any pain , then sure you can start exercising. If you are still sensitive, use Anti inflammatory medicine like Advil or Aleve (naproxen) before the exercise and do not use very heavy weight. Start with lower weight and test the muscle strength. If you did not have Rib Fracture just listen to your body. And keep applying Ice after your exercise. Wow you are a trooper.
