Dysphagia: Food or pills that feel like they are getting stuck in the esophagus need to be evaluated by a gastroenterologist.  A scope can be passed into the esophagus and they can examine for narrowing or strictures which may be causing the obstruction.

A problem: It sound like you may have a piece of food lodged in your esophagus. If this feeling persists (and it sounds like it does), you should seek prompt attention. Sometimes an endoscopy is necessary to retrieve the offending food. It's much better to do this sooner rather than later.

See a doctor: You should probably see someone with those symptoms. Other important questions to think about are;  do you have a fever? Did you feel something get stuck? When did it start? Is it getting worse or better? Can you still swallow fluids and solids?

Swallowing pain: Likely is reflux/ gastritis -with or without H pylori a bacteria or esosinophilic esopahgitis. Could try Prevecid or ranitidine  to see if helps. Avoid smoking , alcohol, spicy foods, motrin like products, chocolate. Would follow up with  gastroenterology

: Your symptoms are consistent with esophageal spasm. If these symptoms rarely occur then you do not need to worry but you should make a diary what kind of foods you eat when the spasm occurs in order to track down a correlation, just in case. However, if these symptoms occur quite often and mess up your daily life, you should be evaluated by a gastroenterologist.

GERD / H. pylori: Your symptoms are consistent with gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD).  The pain and burping is caused from acid coming up from the stomach into the esophagus.  The stomach acid causes irritation to the esophagus which can lead to serious problems.  H. pylori is a bacteria that can live in the stomach and can cause GERD.  H. pylori can be cured.  Consider having a blood test for H.pylori.

Reflux: The most likely cause is underlying gastroesophageal reflux causing inflammation of the esophagus and the swallowing issues.  However, other causes are still possible and an examination and likely a barium esophogram or upper endoscopy would be useful to confirm/rule out other causes.

Don't know the size: But would seek medical attention if you have pain. Some objects may simply pass through the GI tract. Don't know enough about lip ring (size/shape) to know if it would easily pass or not.
