i'm in constant fear that i have a terminal illness and docs just not finding it. cognitive therapy doesn't seem to help. on meds for ocd. advice?

Need more or change?: Sorry to hear of your trouble. All testings negative = reassuring. Ocd is a form of excessive anxiety and seemingly you have some form of that, and some so called irrational fear. Not sure what medicine you are on for ocd, but i would recommend discussing with doc about adjusting dosage and/or adding med to alleviate your symptoms. There are many medications available these days. Good luck.

Have you had a : Formal psychiatric evaluation. This is a great place to start (if not already done). Cognitive behavioral therapy can be effective for treatment of anxiety and unrealistic fears of illness. Sometimes psychiatric medications are also indicated.

Yes: Yes fear could be one of the underlying symptoms of anxiety. I suggest meditating for 10-15 mins (daily deep breathing and relaxation as well as clearing your mind) to see if you can discover the reason behind your fear.
