Weight loss medicine: There are actually 100 different medicines for blood pressure, 10 categories of medicines for diabetes, but very few fda approved medicines for weight loss.  Really, only about 5 as of last summer.  About 100 others are in different stages of fda trials.  Orlistat is a medicine that blocks fat absorption.  Belviq (lorcaserin) and Phentermine affect your appetite.  None should be used without doctor supervision.

Careful: It could help appetite loss but Cardiovascular adverse effects may be associated with phentermine (the active ingredient contained in Adipex-P) Palpitations, tachycardia, elevation of blood pressure, ischemic event have been reported. Primary pulmonary hypertension and valvular heart disease has been reported in patients taking phentermine . Is a matter of try and see but is not well studied .

Consult a surgeon: First you need to see a plastic surgeon.  Try to find one who specializes in or has experience with bariatric patients because this is not the typical cosmetic case.  The doctor will document the problem and need for surgery including photos. It helps if you have problems like infections in skin creases or trouble walking due to the excess skin.

No studies submitted: In order for a drug to be approved by the fda for a specific problem, the company must do clinical studies that demonstrate that the drug does what they are perporting.  Unless the makers of Dutasteride do studies  demonstrating it is effective to stop hair loss, it can not be marketed for that purpose.  It costs hundreds of millions of dollars to do these studies.

No: Please do not waste your money on unapproved stem cell treatment. It may be causing you concern but baldness is a benign condition and you may try to live with it or get a hair piece. The so called stem cell treatment will not only cost a lot, will not help and may expose you to dangers of unapproved treatments.

: Tejocote root (mexican hawthorn) (manzanita) is a natural plant found in Mexico. There are 14 different types and there is no standardization to the products. There are claims about weight loss, but data suggests that it is merely a diuretic and a laxative. Taking too much Tejocote root may result in toxicity which may cause dysrhythmias and respiratory depression.
