34yrs.since 3-4 weeks i have lot of gas in stomach and dryness and foul smelling fart. no weight loss or tiredness. motion normal. i have ibs but this has never happened before. does it require endo/colonoscopy.hot water/cumin seeds give temp relief?

Gas: either you're forming excess gas or have a problem moving the gas along down the intestinal tract. It's probably excess gas which may be due to lactose or gluten intolerance. Taking simethicone 1/2 hour after meals and avoiding gassy foods and beverages help. Try eliminating lactose and then gluten to find out if intolerance is the problem. The fodmap diet is worth trying for IBS relief.

ABOUT A FEW HOURS: Most likely is from the air used to insufflate the colon to help visualize the walls. Most of the air is suctioned out as the scope is being withdrawn. Some air remains so its normal to expel it afterwards.

Stool changes: It you have dark/ black, tarry malodorous stools would get medical evaluation forth with as it could be related to GI bleeding.

Gluten: Have they looked into gluten intolerance or lactose intolerance? Try avoiding these and see if symptoms improve.

: Has there been a change in your diet. Do you have regular bowel movements.  I would, however, make an appointment with a Urologist.  I don’t think another colonoscopy is necessary.  Explain to Urologist your concerns.
