Exposure keratopathy: Essentially, the exposure would damage the cornea (keratopathy) and lead to scratches, decreaesd vision, pain, light-sensitivity, and possibly infection.

Eye irritation: Your description sounds like you caused some eye irritation or abrasion due to eye rubbing.  Both issues will cause eye tearing for quite some time after the rubbing.  Try using frequent artificial tears and see if it resolves.  If this does not resolve ir worsens, call an eye doctor.

why do my eyes start hurting whenever i have my contacts on for just a couple of hours?

Possible misfit.: If your eyes hurt after placing contacts on it could be that they have been misfit for the shape of your cornea. This is especially likely if the eyes hurt immediately after placing them on and they keep hurting. If the eyes are initially comfortable and then hurt later on, it could be that you have dry eyes and your lenses are not permitting enough oxygen to get to the cornea. Tears might help.

Possible causes: Common causes for your symptoms include blepharitis and lagophthalmos/dry eye.  Blepharitis is an inflammation of the rims of the eyelids that can be treated with rx eyedrops and home lid hygiene, and lagophthalmos is when a person doesn't close their eyes all the way when they sleep, leaving a sliver of eye to dry out overnight.  This is treated with eye lubricants.  See your eye md to find out.

Eye allergies: Will  require an eye exam and if necessary, antihistamine eye drops, available by prescription only.

: This is a personal comfort issue. If you like what you are doing there is nothing wrong with it. Normally people get up after being awake. Everyone is different. Keep well

You mean sleeping?: Sleep is an important restorative function for humans. Resting your eyes daily (a quick nap) is ok as long as it doesn't interfere with your normal routine bedtime sleep duration.
