Eye irritation: Your description sounds like you caused some eye irritation or abrasion due to eye rubbing. Both issues will cause eye tearing for quite some time after the rubbing. Try using frequent artificial tears and see if it resolves. If this does not resolve ir worsens, call an eye doctor.
