how do i know if im having an allergic reaction to eyelash extensions or just bad allergies?

Avoidance: The contact allergy is usually to the glue for the eyelash extension and occurs at the lids. The easiest way to tell would be to observe your skin response within 24-72 hours after the extension has been applied.  An allergy patch test can accomplish the same. Eye allergies usually involved the covering on the eyeballs and the inside lids often associated with nasal allergies as well.

Eyelid : Blepharitis involves the eyelids and you may see nothing or  very scaly and wrinkled eyelids with or without redness. Thick secretion may also be present. And yes , it can itchy terribly. This may often occur because of a contact allergen or rosacea.   Need to see an eye doctor.

Conjunctivitis: Allergic rhinoconjunctivitis can cause mattering or sticking of eyelashes if enough goop gets produced. An easy fix can be getting onto a prescribed nasal spray to decrease nasal congestion which miraculously helps ocular symptoms due to the anatomy of the sinuses.

Allergies: Allergies should not affect eyelash follicles. Other conditions, such as demodex infections can cause blepharitis, which affects the base of the eyelash, cause eyelashes to fall out or lead to misdirection when they grow back.

Irritation: from removed eye lash may continue for awhile. If persist  go to an Urgent are and have the eye checked.

Dry eye: The symptom of "sand" in the eye or an eye lash is very often a result of a dry eye condition.  It may help to use the over the counter artificial tears such as Systane or Refresh 4 times a  day.  If it doesn't  help after a few days , see an ophthalmologist because there are other things that could cause those symptoms.

This is normal: The reason you can see your eyelashes  is that  the light backgrounds you describe with your field of vision sets  up the contrast that allows you to see them since they are  dark in contrast to this background. With your  youth your  field of vision is excellent and allows you to see them.

Blepharitis?: Inflammation of inner lining of eyelids can cause irritation of the eyeball, leading to redness. It can also cause the eyelashes to be redirected toward the eye so that they enter the field of vision. Your symptoms are suggestive of blepharitis. You should ask about this. Make sure you see an ophthalmologist (someone who treats eye disease), not just an optometrist (who just prescribes lenses).

No: Eye floaters are an annoying chronic problem.  There is no specific treatment for them.  If you notice a sudden increase in the number of floaters this can be a sign of retinal detachment and must be evaluated immediately.

Unlikely: Allergic eyelids don't twitch but do itch.  What you have may just be a tic which is often worsened by stress.   If the problem persists or gets worse, consult a neurologist. They will often go away after weeks or months- but no always.
