Allergies: Allergies should not affect eyelash follicles. Other conditions, such as demodex infections can cause blepharitis, which affects the base of the eyelash, cause eyelashes to fall out or lead to misdirection when they grow back.

No affect: Allergies may cause loss of lashes, usually by rubbing of the eyes due to itch. The follicles generally are not affected and the lashes can grow back.
