: It is possible. Tear drain into the nasal cavity and an infection in the eye can theoretically spread to the sinuses. More likely the same virus can conjunctivitis, rhinitis and sinusitis.

When it's caused...: ...By a sinus infection and there's redness and swelling around the eye, that's called periorbital  or preseptal cellulitis.  When there is no or minimal swelling, but there is redness and pain and maybe discharge, that's pinkeye.  Note that you can have both at once,  that periorbital cellulitis can happen without a sinus infection, and sometimes it can be hard to distinguish which came first.

Infection or allergy: From your description you may be dealing with an allergy or infection of the eyelid. A sinus infection could easily have spread to the eye area. Don't play around go see your ophthalmologist ASAP

Possible; concerning: The usual sinus infection should not cause your eye to protrude out/make it swollen, unless abscess forming and pushing up thus pushing the eyeball forward. Because of much inflammation, some swelling/edema of the lid is common. Since your description is quite concerning due to eye involvement, i recommend seeing doc asap for eval and treatment. Sinusitis: That is possible, but cannot possibly diagnose this over the internet without a full history and physical exam. If this persists please go and see a doctor. Canada has a great health care system.

Sinus infection: The same germ that is affecting your sinuses can affect the conjunctiva of your eyes, thereby clouding up your eyes and making it hard to focus.

Yes: If it causes facial pain and sensitivity , need to get antibiotics after confirmation of the sinusitis by clinical examination , and preferably ct scan of sinuses , to be orderd by the pcp , and if not ct scan atleast xray of sinuses. Somethimes the opening of the sinuses are blocked which tends to cause stagnation of the mucus and pus inside the sinuses and can cause pain, fever. See pcp/ent doctor.

: Not likely but a severe tooth infection in upper jaw may extend to the maxillary sinus on the same side. Allergic rhinosinusitis may occur concurrently with allergic conjunctivitis, not infectious in etiology.

Bad news: The signs depends on which sinus cavity is involved.  Earliest is proptosis (eye bulging forward), pain in or around the eye, double vision and then decreased vision.  Frontal sinus can cause droopy eyelid as well.
