Possible : If the bhcg is dropping on its own then the pregnancy is resolving. Management though varies depending on the size of the ectopic and the startin bhcg numbers. Even with a falling bhcg surgical or medical management is often indicated.

i got high bp from my first pregnancy and since then ive been under management. now im bothered about being hypertensive and pregnant at the same time, im scared i may not carry to term?

: Did you carry your first baby to term? If so, there is every reason to believe that with the same physician care, you would be able to carry another baby to term. There are no guarantees in medicine and you would need close management-perhaps even with a high risk obstetrician. But, if you are closely monitored and take medicine as prescribed, you will hopefully have a healthy baby! Good luck!

any alternative pain management suggestions once excrutiating migraine hits? no medication as i'm pregnant. only taking tylenol (acetaminophen) and icingneck.

Safe sedation: Sleep is often the best treatment for severe migraine.  Your doctor can prescribe safe sedative medication as well as nausea medication.  Later in pregnancy triptans and Aspirin may be safe.  Be sure your blood pressure is well controlled.

i am 12 weeks pregnant. blood tests show low papp-a of 0.27 mom. elected to have nipt for chromosomal abnormalities. what are chances of other risks of low papp-a like miscarriage, low birth weight, prematurity, pre-eclampsia? advised management?

PAPP-A results ?'s: A PAPP-A level below 0.40 suggests a higher risk of late miscarriage, low birth weight/prematurity.  With this result, request a referral to a MFM (maternal fetal medicine) specialist to closely monitor this pregnancy.  None of the associated problems may occur, but it is best to have increased monitoring to plan later interventions necessary in this pregnancy.

how is syncope diagnosed in expectant mothers?

Limited: Due to the pregnancy, labs, 2 echo and holter would be first studies ordered. 30day event recorder may be needed if symptoms are intermittant. Really can't do stress testing or tilt table tests.She needs to stay hydrated , dont get up too quickly, eat regularly, get plenty of sleep, support socks. BP should be taken with pt lying then sitting  then standing to see if BP drops severly or becomes symp.

Few: 33 is a low risk age for a woman and while the risk of mental illness in the baby has been shown to increase with increasing paternal age the risk is not seen until he is over 50. Good luck.

Moderation: Everything in moderation. Mom and unborn child need salt. All our nerves are conducted on changes in sodium and chloride. Salt is a important part of the diet, in moderation. The recommendation is 2g of salt a day.

Accepted Answer

Probably: it is a category B drug that is usually safe during pregnancy.  I would ask your OB to be complete and let him know any OTC medications you are taking

Expectant fathers: Sure, especially in ones who are involved throughout the pregnancy & worrying about the health of their pregnant partner/unborn child, more so if it is their first.
