after surgery for subgunal exotosis on big toe, what is the usual recovery time & do you need crutches?

10 weeks.: There are a lot of sensory nerves in the hands and feet, so these areas tend to stay painful and sore longer than other body parts.  Pain after this kind of foot surgery can take 10 weeks to resolve, with 10% improvement per week.  At one month (4-5 weeks) you should be 40%-50% better,  at two months you should be 80%-90% better.  At 3 months you should be 99% better.

i have a hard (boney) lump on my forehead between my eyebrow and hairline. it is painless and about 3cmx1.5cm. x ray showed it's not exotosis but abnormal, is it still likely to be benign? i'm really worried

Likely Skin Lesion: Possible a sebaceous cyst (blocked sebaceous gland that grow in size and form a cyst) or Fibroma (collections of fibres under the skin) might give such a hardish lump.
If you are concerned about it get it checked by your doctor.

Exostoses, also called osteochondromas, are benign bone excrescences that usually grow out of the shafts of long bones like the tibia or flat bones like the pelvis, not related to arthritis or other pathologies

No good way so far: This condition is inherited in an autosomal dominant pattern, which means one copy of the altered gene in each cell is sufficient to cause the disorder.
 
In some cases, an affected person inherits the mutation from one affected parent. Other cases result from new mutations in the gene and occur in people with no history of the disorder in their family.
So it very hard to control.
