how to treat exfoliative cheilitis naturally ?

Cheilitis: I need to see pictures to make diagnosis. Cheilitis can be caused by vitamin deficiency or candidiasis. Vitamin B deficiency is a common cause. Vitamin B can be found in beans, yeast, etc. if fungal, you need treatment, plus it's better to take multivitamins for possible vitamin B deficiency. Topical Nystatin or clotrimazole are helpful in fungal cheilitis.

Unlikely: Cheilitis can have infectious causes such as candida (usually at the corners) and strep, but candida usually affects those with compromised immune systems (such as people with diabetes, hiv, or taking chemotherapy), and strep usually is a secondary infection if there is broken or irritated skin.  I believe that the chances of developing cheilitis from kissing is low.

Need to examine: It is not feasible to provide a meaningful opinion without examining you. Exfoliative cheilitis can be self-induced. If you are engaging in behaviour of obsessive-compulsive tendency to pick or chap the lips, stop that.  Take multivitamins, incase it is due to vitamin B deficiency.

exfoliative cheiliti: Unless a predisposing or associated condition can be identified and treated, exfoliative cheilitis is typically resistant to treatment. Unsuccessful use of keratolytic lip balms, sunscreen, antifungal creams, topical ; systemic steroids, antibiotics, and cryotherapy have been described. There has been one report each of the successful use of topical tacrolimus and calendula officinalis ointment 10%.

are exfoliative cheilitis and dry skin,  indicates dendritic cell death on people with hiv infection? are the two of those were hiv symptoms?

Accepted Answer

No: Hiv infects the t-helper cells and leads to their depletion. It does not affect the dendritic cells.  Cheilitis or linear ulcers at corner of lips has a lot of causes including zinc deficiency and not necessarily indicative of hiv.  Neither is dry skin.   It's no more common in persons with HIV than the next person.

Multivitamins: Just in case you have vitamin B deficiency take multivitamins available over the counter.
Have a healthy diet, exercise 30 minutes/day, drink plenty of water daily so your urine is mostly colorless, have safe sex, no tobacco alcohol weed or street drugs. For nutrition: http://www.choosemyplate.gov/.

i got exfoliative cheilitis on accutane. i finished it already and told my doctor about my lips. she prescribed mupirocin. my lips seem to be getting better but still peel if im not careful when eating. how do i know if my lips are healing?

: This is an unfortunate side effect of this medication. Once off the medication, it may take 2-4 weeks for all of the Accutane to be out of your system. During this time, the effect on your lips will be slowly reducing and you should see improvement in the symptoms.

Peeling lips: There are several reasons to have peeling lips. Irritation or allergy from lip balms or lipstick is common. Avoid these products until resolved. 1% Hydrocortisone ointment two to four times daily often works within 7 to 10 days. If not, seek medical attention. 
Precancerous and cancers can cause localized scaling.

Not heard of: Exfoliative cheilitis is rather rare, and has other causes, if suspected, better see a dermatologist for proper management, best wishes

Yes: You should never exfoliate your lips the skin is too thin and there are not enough sebaceous glands to tolerate this.
