PAT: Pat symptoms are the same as any tachycardia. Palpitations, heart rushing, lightheaded, short of breath, chest pain possible, pounding sensation in chest and perhaps other sensations by individual.

Tachycardia: Inappropriate sinus tachycardia - elevated heart rate (HR) at rest &gt; 100 sitting/standing.  Athletes usually have a slow HR at rest.  Atrial tachycardia/fibrillation/flutter with excessive HR more common in extreme athletes with exercise.  Cause unclear - may be due to electrical changes from extreme endurance exercise to atrial electrical properties of the heart.  More exercise not always better.

ectopic atrial tachycardia... does this arrhythmia start and stop gradually? what if it is exertional related? can rate vary since it is with exercise if it is the automatic mechanism type?

Usually this: arrhythmia will have an abrupt initiation and termination rather than a gradual one. Sometimes it can be exertionally related but usually the rate is not variable. Long term monitoring should be able to differentiate the mechanism for you but if not, an Electrophysiologist should be able to help you with either invasive or non-invasive testing.

is there a?difference between atrial tachycardia and junctional tachycardia?

Yes.: These are two different rhythms.  Atrial tachycardia is an abnormal rhythm originating from either the left or right atrium.  Junctional tachycardia is an abnormal rhythm originating from the av node.  Neither is more dangerous than the other.  The treatments will be different, usually.

Not necessarily: One can have atrial tachycardia/paroxysmal atrial tachycardia with a structurally normal heart and no evidence of coronary artery disease.

results of a 24-hour holter test: 9 vpc's, 381 apc's,  3 nonsustained atrial tachycardia 4-9 beats each, at 100-102 beats/min. is this normal?

Sounds: like a bit too many APC''s  The reason for this , in my opinion, should be determined..(EG Cardiac ECHO) Hope this helps!

Monitor: To know what your pacemaker is recording, you must be seeing your doctor to have the device interrogated. You should ask your doctor the meaning of the rhythms that the device is recording and whether anything else is needed.

can taking a vit d3 supplement cause svt/atrial tachycardia?

: Multiple studies and meta-analysis have shown that vitamin D DEFICIENCY can cause atrial fibrillation.  Taking a vitamin D supplement would cure vitamin D deficiency, if properly monitored by your physician, and is highly unlikely to cause SVT or atrial tachycardia.
