Cushing's syndrome can also cause hirsutism. Some medications can cause hirsutism. There are also androgen-secreting tumors which can cause hirsutism. Occasionally no cause can be identified.

Some drugs such as Dilantin can cause unwanted hair growth in normally UN-hairy individuals. If cause is not identified then, electrolysis or laser are good txs.

Another disease, porphyria cutanea tarda may cause increased hair growth and blisters/sun sensitivity. Even rarer, an androgen secreting tumor may cause increased facial and body hair. Certain medications may also cause this to occur.
