Known allergy to milk protein can cause rashes, gastro-intestinal symtoms or eczema but the nasal allergies are not well documented. Neutramigen being hypo-allergenic milk is much less likely to give symptoms. Diagnosis first...: Before this cough can be treated, the cause needs to be diagnosed. Possibilities include acute bronchitis from an infection of the airways, chronic bronchitis, a form of copd, bronchospasm with airway inflammation, post-nasal drip or a combination of factors. The treatments for these are all different so you need to see your doctor so your cough can be diagnosed and treated.

Can get more of both: If one has a respiratory infection in the nose, sinuses, throat, or the lungs, the damaged cells lining the inside of those areas will ooze some mucus, which is clear but can have some color. If lots of white blood cells, plus dead/dying germs and respiratory lining cells, get mixed in with mucus, one has phlegm. If one drinks adequate water, both phlegm & mucus should get more and looser.

: It is possible that allergy related if you usually have similar symptoms same time of the year or in similar circumstances. Otherwise unexplained symptoms lasting more than few weeks have to be questioned and starting with your doc for an exam and detailed history will be best at this point.
