Smaller meals, chew thoroughly, minimal spice, no alcohol, don't overeat.  Eat slowly.  Don't eat for 1 hour before bed time.  For 2 weeks you might benefit from twice a day omeprazole -- ask doc.  Mylanta every 2 hrs
