Kidney cyst: is a common incidental finding, usually of no clinical concern.  Cyst next to esophagus not very common, if they are sure it is just a cyst it may simply be a congenital duplication cyst or other benign cyst, also probably of no significance.  However, it may be worthwhile to ask your doctor about the cyst alongside the esophagus just to be sure.

my ct scan shows a 2.3 cm bronchogenic cyst located next to my esophagus about the 10th intercostal space (radiologist).  doc says ct normal.  really?

Benign conditon: It is not a "normal" CT, but they did comment on the presence of the bronchogenic cyst, that is how you know it is present.  These are rare, and can lead to coughing, weezing and pneumonia, or be asymptomatic.  The comment of normal probably menas that the remainder of the CT is unremarkable.  You can ask to have the radiologist amend his report.

i have a 4cm cyst in my throat above sternum, its pushing against my thyroid, larynx and esophagus. what are the best surgical practices and risk invo?

Thyroid cyst: If it is a thyroid cyst, and there are no worrisome features on ultrasound, then it may not require any treatment. Unless it causes trouble with swallowing or breathing. Important to find a surgeon who does a lot of thyroid surgery.  The surgery is usually straightforward, often outpatient. Risks are to parathyroids and nerve to larynx, but risk is low in good hands.

what medication do i need for a simple ovarian cyst of 3cm by 3cm? can it just go on its own or should i take something?

Ovarian cyst: Yes, simple ovarian cyst can resolve on its own, however it is prudent to use a trial of birth control pill. The pelvic ultrasound can be repeated after six months on the bcp. If on the other hand you start experiencing pelvic pain, a trip to your doctor will be prudent for reevaluation. Goodluck.

i had sebacious cyst on my back which ruptured on its own and the skin is flat now..  what next? how to ensure that sac is removed? any medication?

Consider Excision: If you had a ruptured sebaceous cyst that is now healed and shows no signs of infection, such as redness or tenderness, then you do not need any medication at this time. At this point, you may want to wait to see if the cyst recurs and, if it does, have it removed. Your other option is to have the area where the cyst was removed now, in effort to prevent future recurrence.

Contraceptive pills: Combined oral contraceptive pills may regulate the menstrual cycle, prevent the formation of follicles that can turn into cysts, and possibly shrink an existing cyst, and may reduce your risk of ovarian cancer. in many cases, especially if you have no symptoms like pain, you can wait and see if the cyst goes away on its own within a few months. Your doctor may recommend periodic ultrasounds.

Birth control pills regulate the menstrual cycle, to prevent the formation of follicles that can turn into cysts, and to possibly (but typically not) reduce the size of an existing cyst.
