Topical antiseptics such as peroxide/manganate, rubbing alcohol (burns quite a bit), or not commonly thought of is hand-sanitizer. Benzoyl peroxide cream may help. It is important to keep dry/clean. May need topical antibotic script from doc and oral meds needed for severe cases. Good luck.

Sure?: If the diagnosis is accurate (some other conditions can look similar) taking Erythromycin 4 times a day for 2 weeks is the standard treatment. Your doctor may check your feet with a wood's lamp to confirm.

Fusidic acid: If I were to rule out other possibilities, such as contact allergic dermatitis, heat rash, intertrigo, scabies and perhaps various fungal infections; then I woudl prescribe 2% fusidic acid and possibly also add red light phototherapy

Erythrasma: Erythrasma is a bacterial infection of the skin around body flexures. Left untreated it can spread and rarely causes septicemia. Most people who develop Erythrasma have an underlying condition that predisposes them to getting it such as Diabetes, Obesity, and immune problems. Treatment is with oral antibiotics, topical fusidic acid or antibacterials,and red light therapy. Healing takes 2-4 weeks.

Castellani's solutio: Are you sure it is erythrasma? Castellani's clear solution (phenol) is available otc. Also otc you can get Clotrimazole or Miconazole cream.

: Make sure the diagnosis is correct. Several other problems are more common causes of redness, irritation, etc of the scrotum, and the treatments are different. See a doctor, ideally a dermatologist, for confirmation of the diagnosis if you haven't done so. If erythrasma is confirmed, topical clindamycin or erythromycin usually is recommended; triple antibiotic ointment may be less effective.
