Bulge: When you make that maneuver your abdominal rectus muscles probably pull apart causing a bulging out of your upper abdomen simulating a hernia and when you relax your abdomen the rectus muscles close and the bulge disappears while a growth or mass won't.  A physician can check this for you if you still have concerns.

Abdominal: Wall hernia comes to mind.  But there are 100's of causes of belching and gas, such as gerd, gastritis, gallstones.  Have your doctor check you over.

Overeating: You are supplying body with more calories/fuel than it requires. Excess calories are converted into fat by the body &amp; is most noticeable in abdominal wall. Suggest you obtain nutritional advice. In mean time, try drinking 2 glasses of water before every meal, avoid snacks, have frequent small healthy meals high in fruit &amp; vegetables &amp; low in carbs. Difficult but essential for long &amp; healthy life

mom's caregivers saw a bulge on right upper abdomen. urgent care doctor didn't see  but found hiatal hernia on ct scan. could hernia cause the bulge?

Hiatal hernia: This is a condition in which part of the stomach pushes up through the diaphragm muscle into the thoracic cavity.  You can not see this unless you have xray vision.  Many people have this, and the most common type is a sliding form.

how soon, and far does your uterus move up when you are pregnant? i am almos 7 weeks pregnant, and i swear i can feel a slight buldge in my upper abdomen.  is it possible that this could be my uterus?

That : That is a good question.  In general, though of course all patients are different due to body type,  the uterus can be palpated (felt on examination) above the pubic bone at 12 weeks, though in some women it can definitely be palpated earlier.  At 20 weeks, the uterus is usually up to the umbilicus (belly button), and at around 36 weeks it is up to the xiphoid (the tip of the sternum).

Epigastrictenderness: Epigastric tenderness can be caused by any of the organs that are in the general vicinity, including esophagus, stomach, gallbladder, abdominal wall,  The pancreas , and rarely by other organs.
