Drying, irritating: Epiduo can be effective but irritating and very expensive. Over $300 for 1 tube! Both benzoyl peroxide and adapalene are much less costly if used separately. Even cheaper if tretinoin instead of adapalene with similar result.  Benzoyl peroxide is drying. Adapalene is especially irritating during first few weeks, so it is often started at just 2 or 3 times a week. The skin tolerates it better after

: It seems as though you have Inflammatory Acne. Treatment should be either an oral or topical antibiotic along with an appropriate acne wash and a topical retinoid. See a dermatologist for evaluation and the proper treatment.

Blackheads: Don't scrub! It just injures the skin and increases the risk of infection.   Your hormones are to blame for the only skin and I don't think you want to attempt changing that.  A salicylic gel or base is probably the most helpful but apply sparingly at night,  starting with a couple of times per week,  increasing nightly.   Use a very gentle cleanser specifically for the face (not for oily skin).

Blackheads do return: A person with typical acne, which includes blackheads (open comedones), will find that the blackheads return. The skin pores that make the dead skin cells that form blackheads continue to stay active, producing more skin cells daily. Acne medications such as Retin-A or differin (adapalene) gel can help decrease blackheads. Seeing a professional to do a facial can also help get rid of blackheads.

Oily skin: Oily skin  accumulate s sebum in skin pores causing blackheads and  whiteheads. Keep skin dry  Use glycol acid wash or salicylate acid. Apply Retin A (tretinoin) cream at night.
