WATCH YOUR BM: Not directly either the soda causing constipation and aggravating the hemorrhoids or the anal fissure that you might have
or it could aggravating an ulcer that you might have specially if it had high caffeine content
either way stop the soda monitor your bowels use a sitz bath.

Yes: Chronic drinking can lead to gastric irritation, ulcer and duodenal ulcers. These may bleed allowing blood into the GI tract and eventually will be seen in the stool.

reasons for bright red blood in stool? can diet coke and beer cause it.  i drink too much of both.  i also only get blood when i need to go urgently.

No: Bright red blood usually means it is a problem right in the rectal ampulla, the very bottom of the GI tract. It is usually caused by hemorrhoids or fissures, although it could also be a polyp, and could also be inflammatory bowel disease. Any blood in stool needs investigation. See your pcp and/or get a referral to a GI specialist. You need a full exam. Too much beer is bad for you - talk to md.

No specific foods: No specific  foods heal ulcers but eating a bland diet can prevent worsening.  Peppermint can increase acid reflux. Soy milk can worsen symptoms if you are sensitive to soy.  If you are having active rectal bleeding you need to be evaluated immediately.  Go to the ER

Yes: Alcohol intake can cause bleeding in the intestine through multiple mechanisms. Alcohol is a poison and never did anybody any good. Your girl friend would be better served by not drinking. For good health - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Do not use tobacco, alcohol, weed or street drugs in any form.  Drink enough water daily so that your urine is mostly colorless.
Practice safe sex.

Go see your doctor: Blood in the stool is often a serious problem and msut be investigated as the cause can be simple as hemorrhoids or something very serious like cancer of the rectum or large intestine. So do not ignore it. Alchol itself is unlikely to be a direct cause, yet it can cause gastritis or stomach ulcers which tend to bleed. So better find out what is wrong before you get into a swerious or lifethreaten.

Blood in stool: Blood in stool is abnormal and must be explained. If it's a tiny amount of bright red blood not mixed with stool,most likely hemorrhoids or an anal fissure caused it. If there is much blood mixed with stool more serious possibilities include diverticulosis, inflammatory bowel disease or a growth in the colon. For persistent, heavy bleeding evaluation in the hospital emergency room is needed.

They're unrelated: Energy drinks usually have lots of caffeine (which can affect your heart esp if you have an underlying condition, and affects sleep) and sugar (a problem esp if you're diabetic). The stool having blood may just be from a hemorrhoid or an anal fissure if fresh blood but if it continues and esp if you're over 40/ have a family history of cancer/ have anemia should go see your medical provider.

Urgent bm: This may be a hyperactive gastrocolic reflex. Drinking or eating sets off waves of intestinal contractions. resulting in an urgent urge to have a bm. Irritable bowel syndrome is another possibility. This reflex can be blunted by taking dicyclomine 1/2 hour before drinks or meals. Also get checked for hypoglycemia(low blood sugar) and thyroid disorder.
