Local anesthetics,: Depending on which one was used and whether a vasoconstrictor was included, as well as the amount given, can have a wide range of anesthesia times.  Some can dissipate after only 30 minutes, while others can last 10-12 hours.  While numb, stick to a non-chew, liquid to puree diet so that you avoid the chance of injuring the soft tissue of your lip, tongue or cheek.

Requires evaluation: You require evaluation by your anesthesiologist prior to surgery. If you appear to have a difficult airway, alternative techniques to oral intubation may be required. You physician anesthesiologist is very skilled in such matters and will explain his plan in detail to you.

i'm worried as i've had a lot of anesthesia over the past month to do fillings in my mouth. will there be any negative effects?

No: Your dentist probably used local anesthetic to do the fillings. The doses that they have been using are not cumulative, unless they were all injected at once. Your body easily removes these medications, which is why the numbness wears off. There will be no long term effects.

havin oral surg. on wed. i always puke after anesthesia nausea meds or not. is there anything i can do to not vomit? esp after mouth surg. ouch!!

Keep stomach empty: You can try fasting 8-10  hours before surgery...only take Fluids until 3 hours before surgery. This way your stomach will be emptied of all partially digested food and there will be NOTHING to vomit. Also speak with the Oral Surgeon and Anesthesiologist so he may consider alternatives in your case.

local anesthesia a week ago caused cheek swelling, and my mouth corner still isn't working right (smiling, whistling, etc.) is this permanent?

Transient: Parasthesia or temporary lack of sensation due to the tissue injury and inflammation.
Rec.: see your dentist for post-op evaluation. Medrol (methylprednisolone) dose pack is warranted in these cases.

4 hrs after local anesthesia for cavity fix, not numb anymore but still can't move that side of mouth or side of nose, normal?

Probably normal. : Sometimes it can take a few hours more for all the sensations to return after local anesthetic.  By tomorrow if you don't feel normal then consult your dentist or an oral surgeon.

is dentistry mandibular nerve block the same as a local anesthesia injection given in the mouth?  if not what is the difference please?

Yes: A mandibular nerve block is used to numb all of the lower teeth on one side of the mouth.
