See a doc: A high white count can be indicative of many things such as infection or plain inflammation.   It is normal to have a high white blood cell count when you are ill.  Alone, this test doesn`t mean much and if you are asymptomatic your white count is likely normal now.  See your doctor for proper follow up.

Probably not: White blood cells are an indication of infection. Ovarian cysts are not usually caused by infection. An ovarian torsion when the ovary twists on itself causing extreme unrelenting pain can cause an elevated white count.

Yes it can: A cyst in this location may produce peritoneal irritation or be the focus of a localized inflammation.Associated it can produce fever, discomfort or severe pain if ruptured.Mass effect also can be present if the cyst is large.It needs a visit to a gynecologist.

Hmmmmmmm: Most ruptured cyst are benign. However, the sure way to tell if something other than benign cyst ruptured is to follow with your doctor/ob doctor post ruptured to make sure to other finding around that area once the ovary heal up.

Yes: Or simply stress -- even a cold shower can raise it to 20, 000. I'm seriously concerned that you describe "cystic acne" but only list benzoyl peroxide. That's not nearly enough. You need to be under the care of a competent physician, probably a dermatologist, as cystic acne usually requires Isotretinoin or something else really powerful. Best wishes.

You're fine: Normal WBC. I trust lymphocyte and neutrophil counts were fine also. Take the prenisone for the poison ivy only if it's so bad you can't sleep otherwise. We're glad to help.

Unlikely: Unless the cyst is infected, pushing on another area and creating inflammation or it is malignant it is unlikely to produce systemic leukocytosis.

More info needed: If you mean blood and tissue coming from the vagina, no that is not normal, and needs prompt evaluation.
If you mean blood and tissue coming out of your incisions, that is also not normal, and needs emergent evaluation.
Recurrent ovarian cysts can be prevented with medicine--depending on your pregnancy goals.

there's blood in my urine. my ct scan just showed a "possible ruptured ovarian cyst." but now, i haven't had to go number 2 in days. is this related?

Possibly: Sometimes blood in the urine can actually be coming from the rectum.  If the doctor does a urinalysis and says there's blood in urine, then you can believe it.  Blood from rectum due to constipation is way more common than blood in urine.  Your ovarian cyst isn't related to possible blood in urine or rectum.  I would take MiraLAX (polyethylene glycol) to help have bowel movement, and increase your hydration.

i think i had an ovarian cyst rupture yesterday.  tonight i had bright red blood.  i had a hysterectomy 2 years ago.  is blood normal?

No: you should not be having any bleeding vaginally if you had a hysterectomy 2 years ago.  We do not know the reason for the hysterectomy, but there is not a passage between the ovary and the vagina anymore for blood to pass even if you had a burst cyst.  You need to have this evaluated.
