27 y/o triathlete - hr avg 175 - feels good. goes above 200 occasionally - ekg normal w/sinus arrythmia. rhr 54, bp 110/70. should i be concerned?

Ur HR of 200 is-: -almost 4 x Ur resting rate, which is not normal. I would C a cardiologist &amp; nave an echocardiogram as well as a stress test.

went to my dr 4 heart palpitations, and she found prolonged pr with sinus arrythmia on ekg? what does this mean, and what could cause it? i'm only 18.

The words you have: written sound like a computer interpretation of an EKG rather than an actual interpretation. Your doctor read the English not the EKG. I suspect the Cardiologist will set this straight. Palpitations, dizziness and lightheaded are unlikely to be related in any way to the EKG findings even if they are real. You are probably just mildly volume depleted (dehydrated). Don't worry! This is not serious.

Arrhythmias: Further evaluation would depend on the problem and the degree of symptom aggravation you are experiencing. A discussion with your doctor about it is the best next step for you to take.  If the symptom isn't really bothering you and if there is no sign of significant heart abnormality, you may not need more testing.

i was just diagnosed with sinus bradycardina with marked sinus arrythmia at my ekg last week. waiting on results from 24 hour holter.is this serious?

Not likely unless: U stay in the hi 30's/low 40 even wi normal activities. If you are a very well trained athlete, it is even less a concern.

Please Clarify: There must be a miscommunication here.  Arrhythmia is a generic term to mean abnormal. There must be another word there to describe the specific abnormality.

If there is not an 'arrhythmia' then normal sinus rhythm is a common way to say normal.

would an echocardiogram show if you have an arrhythmia similar to an ekg?

Doubt it: Some centers may use equipment that runs a simultaneous rhythm strip which would pick up an arrhythmia. However. the echo itself is designed to look a structural detail, like sonar &amp; would not. The technician doing the study would likely be aware of some arrhythmias. There is often a video record of the procedure so anyone seeing it might suspect one.
