Dreams and Effexor (venlafaxine): Effexor (venlafaxine) (and all antidepressants) suppress rem sleep. We dream during rem sleep. So missing a shorter acting antidepressant (including effexor) can cause intense and vivid dreams.

Lucid Dreaming: appears to be quite controversial. If it does occur during REM sleep, my thought would be that there would be no significant body movements. Those are just thoughts as I have  no expertise in this area.

A lucid dream is any: dream in which you are aware you are dreaming. It can be positive, beneficial. Vivid nightmares are not so good. When you awaken you may “re-write” nightmares by thinking of different (positive, under your control and desire) outcomes to events in the nightmare. Repeated practice may train your brain to re-write the dreams for you. I have helped myself and many others succeed at this. Best regards

No: Lucid dreaming only means your are aware you are dreaming and can attempt to  "control the dream content".  You can't go in to a coma from lucid dreaming.

REM is not "deep": Lucid dreaming is being conscious of dreaming during the dream itself.  Some people experience this, many don't.  Most memorable/vivid dreams occur during REM sleep, which is actually not the deepest level of sleep.  In healthy sleep there is a cycling through different sleep stages or levels about every 90 minutes through the night.

REM: Dreaming takes place during rem sleep. You have 5 sleep stages that you progress through. The duration of the rem stage increases as you reach the early morning so that's your best bet of having more lucid dreams. No matter how lucid though, you have to write them down immediately or you will not be able to recall them later. Keep a notepad by your nightstand for this purpose. Good luck!

self-talk : Lucid dreaming is usually desired because it gives the dreamer control and awareness. But to answer your  question, some people can influence their dreams with self-talk or self-hypnosis before they fall asleep. So if one did not want to spoil happy dreams with lucidity, one could theoretically say to oneself that they will enjoy their dreams without any rational input.

Yes!: Until recently, this was a very poorly known phenomenon. Latest studies show it not only happens and can be documented, but also it can be induced. However, not everybody seem to be capable of it.
