ive been using valsartan for hypertension reasons but had to stop because it causes me epididymitis, now i use  atorvastatin and its giving me vivid dreams. is there anything better i can use with less side effects ?

Medication : You can speak to a doctor about changing your medication. I remember and a patient who had 20 medications on her allergy list, but when you continue to ask her details about the side effects you come to realize she did not want any medication because she believed that all medication is bad for her. so she has been getting a steroid injection due to her hs ( hidradenitis suppurativa) is that injection for any chance going to give her any side affects of gaining weight and her period being delayed or any other side effects?

Accepted Answer

: This type of steroid treatment can give a patient an appetite increase. It is not the type of steroid that would interfere with menses. Long term side effects of steroids depend on dosing &amp; frequency and rarely are features of sporadic use.

What for?: What do you expect to gain my taking cinnamon? It is not doing you any good and you may safely stop doing that.

i currently take a supplement containing 160mg of cinnamon daily, but i don't know if it's ceylon or cassia. is this a dangerous amount of coumarin for daily use?

It isn't : different fundamentally from the cinnamon used in cooking. I can assure you 160 mg of the whole spice is teeny weeny compared to many of my stir frys.
My baking book says a teaspoon is 20 times (2300 mg) more than that; and I use many teaspoons.
furthermore, I know the cost of good cinnamon and I suspect they put 'supplement' on the bottle and jack the price 10x

Discuss w your DR: Because your kidneys are severely affected, it would be wise to follow all of your Dr's treatment instructions very carefully and not try to add any supplements or OTC treatments without discussing it with them.

YES-ceylon form safe: There are 2 forms of cinnamon, Ceylon (called true cinnamon),which has little coumarin,and Cassia,which has higher amounts of coumarin which in large quantities can cause liver damage in a subset of those who are sensitive. I can't find any info on whether 1 tsp of Cassia is considered a large quantity, but there's absolutely no reason to worry about Ceylon cinnamon.See http://tinyurl.com/cwmgeeh

Probably yes: Supposedly cinnamon does have some estrogenic properties, but there isn't any strong data out there that suggests those with estrogen receptor (+) breast cancer are at any significant risk with cinnamon consumption.  I would caution you that in general, that more is rarely ever better, and that if you are "gung ho" about cinnamon supplementation that you be reasonable about your intake.

Generally good: Most who adopt cannot have children or want to "complete" a family.  Most in this category are attentive and loving and so the likely situation for the adoptee is to escape poor situations with limited funds and unhealthy environments.  So the effects are usually positive.  The only downside is that some go on a campaign later in life to discover their biological parents - not always a good idea.
