If you have ADHD -: Primarily Inattentive Type &amp;  comorbid  anxiety &amp;/or depression, you need multimodal treatment for optimal management. Add Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy &amp; environmental manipulations at work &amp; home, including  ADA accommodations. See CHADD.org. Strattera (atomoxetine) has a serotonin effect. Use caution when adding SSRI's. Discuss med management with your psychiatrist &amp; seek referral to a psychologist.

Can be: Stopping Lexapro (escitalopram) suddenly is not a good idea, because of possible discontinuation symptoms.  Mood swings, irritability, muscle aches, tremors, anxiety, shock-like sensations, head "zaps, " dizziness, balance problems, fatigue, and vomiting can also happen.  Please work with your doctor on tapering this medication so you don't have to have such an experience.

Yes and No: There are no interactions between Lexapro (escitalopram) and alcohol as there are between benzodiazepine anti anxiety agents and alcohol. However, the disorders for which lexipro is prescribed such as anxiety and depression are often worsten by the use of alcohol.

how does lexapro (escitalopram) effect rem sleep?  i started lexapro (escitalopram) three weeks ago and recently i've been feeling one positive change  (no racing thoughts at night) but i also feel i get a very shallow sleep.

Yes: Yes, ssri's do alter sleep, as serotonin directly involved in sleep.  If this does not improve, talk with your md about medication options.
