Strength training: and eating disorder.  It is important to have a balanced diet while doing strength training.  Your muscles need good nutrition to develop. Take care not to over-exercise - limit your strength training to no more than an hour a day.

: For you a BMI under 18.5 would be considered too low. Do you approve.of your present weight.when you see yourself in a full length mirror?  I recommend seeing a dietician at your local hospital for evaluation. Your ideal weight,recommended daily calorie intake depending.upon your physical activity status, &amp; your current eating habits will be reviewed. Sample diets can be obtained.

Weight disorders: Sorry to hear about your dilemma.  Can you discuss with a school counselor?  If you are under 18 and can't go to the doctor by yourself, then perhaps you have an uncle, aunt, other family member who can be your advocate.  Ask your family if they would take you to a psychologist who specializes in weight disorders treatment just once to have an objective opinion about your medical diagnosis.  Best.

: I don't think that your weight was low enough to induce a testosterone deficiency during the ensuing years. Do you have signs &amp; symptoms of testosterone deficiency? Has the level been tested? See doctor : Ulcers or gallstones or celiac disease or sprue.. Possibilities are many. See a gastroenterologist. Not healthy for a young man to be undernourished. Seek help.

Yes: Although eating disorders are much more common in young women, they can occur in men as well. If you want to exclude plain old obesity as an eating disorder, of course they are common in both but i assume you are talking about bulemia and anorexia nervosa.

Several groups are.: Folks with depression, post traumatic stress disorder, anxiety disorders, bipolar disorders & obsessive compulsive disorders all can have issues of eating too much, too little or eating only a specific kind of food. The more direct and obvious groups are those with anorexia, bulimia or pica. Other eating disorders may come from endocrine or other medical abnormalities - thyroid, diabetes and more.
