Depends: It depends on what you are describing as a pinging sound. Usual sounds in the head could be an indication of what is described as tinnitus. Tinnitus can be benign, but can also indicate blood flow across a high pressure vascular bed, such as seen in a fistula or abnormal blood vessels in the brain. It these symptoms continue, it may be wise to see a doctor for further evaluation.

Doubt any thing: There is a lining in your brain called the dura.  This were most sensation comes from on the brain.  I.E.  The brain itself has no sensation.  On some, probably migraine sufferers moreso, this lining can be sensitive and you may notice weird sensations like this when you turn your head.

Fluid: You may have some fluid trapped in the ear canal. Try gently using a q-tip to see if it gets fluid on it when you put it in the canal. If this does not work and it does not resolve then see a doctor for an ear exam.

Go to clinic: You should get your ears examined.  Occasionally it is something very minor like some ear wax or something else in your ear.  But it may be something that requires a visit to an ear-nose-throat specialist.

ET DYSFUNCTION: Your symptoms are consistent with EUSTACHIAN  TUBE DYSFUNCTION . Try nasal irrigation/ZYRTEC/FLONASE. Follo up with Doc to have exam and labs checked.

Nondiagnostic: These varied symptoms are not explainable with one diagnosis. Sharp,fleeting chest pains often emanate from the nerves or muscles of the rib cage and have no relationship to heart or lungs. The eustachian tube which runs from high in the back of the nose to the middle ear may be clogged with mucus and this can account for the sound and lightheadedness. Discuss these possibilities with your MD.

Dependong on the repetative nature of the gun shots and loud noises, you hope the hearing comes back in 2-3 days.  If the loss persists, you need to get an evaluation by ent. Always wear protective hearing aides/ear protection when shooting a gun or performing activites with loud noises (leaf blowing, weed whacking, etc).
