ear canal abrasion still slightly bleeding after 2 days. was told to keep dry, but my ears naturally are more wet. i already use ear plugs in the shower, dry outside right after, & since i cut my inner canal, i wear cottonball. any other suggestions?

Ear canal : The skin overlying the ear canal is very thin and sensitive. If you have an abrasion, you can rinse the ear canal with a normal saline solution twice daily and try to keep the area open to air and clean. Allow the abrasion to heal on its own without any Q-tips or other instruments that may stirrup the abrasion and keep it from healing.

Facial nerve: Based on your symptoms of  hearing loss and tongue numbness you may have a facial nerve problem.  You should talk to your doctor

Herpes zoster?: Assuming no trauma, this could be an early stage of herpes zoster (shingles) and you should look carefully for red bumps, blisters, etc. However, shingles usually doesn't cross the midline, so "around the back to the other [ear]" is atypical. Still, keep an eye out for the rash. Even if none appears, see your doctor if the pain is severe or continues another 2-3 days.

yesterday, i didn't know that a hair got inside my eye. i moved my hair to tuck it behind my ear but the moment i moved it, i realized that it was in my eye because i felt eye pain. the pain lasted for seconds only. did i have a corneal abrasion?

Likely not: A true corneal abrasion triggers pain that persists. The only way to know for sure is to have it evaluated.

: Cancer of the ear canal is very rare. It would be prudent to visit your ENT doctor again for a repeat assessment. Do not use Q tips nor insert any objects in your ear canal.

Same As Anywhere: Treatment would be the same as anywhere else on the body.  Keep the area clean and watch for infection (increased redness, pain, swelling, drainage).

I advise you: to leave it alone and see a doctor for proper diagnosis.  Meantime, just use a bland moisturizer like vaseline a few times a day.

Sure: After any injury to the skin there will be discoloration. This can take many months to go away.

Herpes?: He should go to his dermatologist and have a culture performed for the hsv-2 virus. If he is positive, there is a very effective prophylactic pill which he can take which can stop these breakouts from occurring. It can also greatly reduce his potential from spreading it to a sex partner.
