im (19f, 115 pounds) nervous about liver problems. last year i drank more but this year now abide by low risk limits, but occasionally i get a minor dull pain in my upper right quadrant that quickly goes away. no other symptoms. should i be scared?

A number of things..: Although you are young your gallbladder could be the culprit. The stomach (gastritis, Ulcer) is also an outside possibility. In short a visit to your urgent care center is necessary.

for the last week or so ive been having intermittent sharp pain in the upper right quadrant and upper left quadrant. i am also having mild dull pain in mid right back and right testicle with mild constipation and frequent belching, could it be gas?

: Based on what you've described, while the discomfort in your abdomen could be gas, it could also be other conditions that would warrant having you seen in person for evaluation.  If you are still in pain, it would be best to be evaluated soon.

Pain: When pain becomes unbearable, it associates nausea/ vomiting, fever or chills. If pain appears chronic , coming and going, best will be to study its behavior, circumstances and call your doc for an office visit.

gb taken 7mo ago. resumed weight lifting 10wks ago. dull pain in gb area for 3 wks midupper right quadrant. had u/sound all ok no hernia. is it normal?

Which type of GB: surgery did you have, open or laprascopic? As long as you have been cleared of anything else more serious, such as a hernia as you said, infection, hematoma or anything else, then you may be feeling muscle or myofascial pain related to disruption from the surgery and this could last up to two years post surgery unless it is permanent. Find someone who does good myofascial work, see if it helps!

Depends: I am glad this seems not to be serious to you. One suggestion can be using over the counter meds like acetaminophen, or ibuprofen: however, both of these meds may cause problems or may not be a good choice depending on your medical history. Such pain can be from benign things like constipation, but more serious problems can also start this way. Especially at age 81, if the pain continues, be seen.

i have upper left quadrant dull pain thats worse when laying down on my back or after a meal. had episode of major pain on sunday that lasted an hour. ct is normal. what could this be?

See your Dr.: Pain in the left upper Quadrant can be caused by: stomach ulcers, pancreatitis, IBS, chrohns disease, a kidney stone, diverticulitis, or a problem with the kidney or spleen. If the pain persists more than a week, you should see your Dr to follow up on the persistent pain and discuss possible causes and treatments. There are other tests that can be run and imaging that may give more details.

theres pain under the left side of my ribs n the upper quadrant its not rib pain its deeper & constant dull pain it hurts more when i bend 2that side or lay on it when i eat & when i breathe i get full fast my left shoulder hurts& when lifted.advice?

LUQ pain : May be related to gastritis, or could be pancreas or spleen or even from lung or colon or even ovary/uterus. Would get imaging Ultrasound/ CT of abdomen( sometimes you see stuff on U/S you dont see on CT) - make sure you are not pregnant first  and Follow up w/ MD. if it were the right side I would say gallbladder as shoulder pain is not uncommon but it is on the right not left.

?gall bladder: There can be many cause of right upper quadrant pain.  Gall bladder inflammation with or without gall stones is one of the most common.  Another not uncommon cause is appendicitis, even though appendicitis usually is in the right lower quadrant.  The appendix in some people lies higher than usual.  For someone 20 years old, these are the most likely diagnoses, although there are others.

Pain in the side!: Ruq pain can come from a variety of different sources. Gall bladder is a common source however but one of many possibilities. Xray surely isnt going to decipher if the pain is gallbladder related. Ultimately you would need to get an ultrasound of your gallbladder. Other things that can cause RUQ pain include, pleurisity, trauma, hepatitis, musculoskeletal.
