what should i do to treat dandruff, dry scalp, and scabs on scalp?

Dandruff: Dandruff, or seborrheic dermatitis,  is a common disorder that is believed to be caused by a yeast.  Most treatments are geared at reducing the  yeast.  Such treatments include nizoral, (ketoconazole) head and shoulders,  and selsun blue. Tar shampoos and corticosteroids can be used as well. This condition rarely results in hair loss.

i have dandruff and a dry scalp that bleeds from scabs, do you have any solutions? also i have dry skin around my hairline? please help thanks

Try hydrocortisone: This sounds like you have what is called "seborrheic dermatitis".  What a big word for something so common!  it is in the eczema family.  Shampoo with t-gel.  Try over the counter Hydrocortisone cream, rub in for 30 seconds 2 times each day whenever the rash is present.  There is no cure for this, it will almost always come back.  Don't get discouraged, just keep the Hydrocortisone handy.

i have anxious habit to play in hair . dry scalp , trying to quit. picked dandruff , scab  . picked at scab & feels moist , what's that moistness?

Manage it: You won't be able to stop, so don't be hard on yourself. Some folks are wired to do this kind of thing with scalp lesions. What you can do is manage any dandruff / seborrheic dermatitis aggressively; perhaps ketoconazole would be right for you in addition to a good dandruff shampoo, and you can ask your physician about coal tar, sulfur, selenium, and/or a bit of a glucocorticoid.

i have a lump next to my ear at the front it's painful i fount it about 3 days ago i think it's gone down a little , i did have dry scalp on top of ea?

Mumps?: In light of recent flair-ups in mumps cases, do you have any fever? If not mumps are unlikely--especially unilaterally. Do you have an inflammation in your scalp because this could cause an inflamed lymph node in front of your ear. It is not cancer. I would observe it for changes in size or degree of pain for another few days. It will probably go away by itself.

hi past few weeks on back of my scalp i have a lump like a scab. keep picking at it. so annoying. has been bleeding. have 2 of them

Quit picking: Unfortunately this may have become a "pickers" focus or habit for you  and it will not heal if you continue to pick. Each time you do you give the area more trauma and a greater chance for germs to invade. Try to consciously avoid picking, or rub two fingers together when you get an urge and the thing will heal in a week or two.

i have had a small lump on my scalp for years. it has always been sensitive to touch but is now becoming painful. it is almost scab like when i touch?

Growth: Any growth on skin that is changing needs to be evaluated by a physician. Preferably a dermatologist. Take care!

Scalp lump: Most skin conditions like this should be evaluated by a physician. In sun exposed areas, tissue damage results in changes in the nature and texture of the skin, including benign things like seborrheic keratosis, but also skin cancers like basal and squamous cell tumors. A biopsy always takes guesswork out of the equation.

Infection: It sounds like you are developing small lymph nodes. These often form in response to infection. It would be best to see your doctor for an evaluation of your scalp and ear to try and find the source of infection so that it can be treated.

Better on salads.: "dry scalp" may actually be seborrheic dermatitis or psoriasis or fungus. See a dermatologist. Meanwhile try using a dandruff shampoo in the shower every day.

Mutually exclusive: By definition a dry scalp would be due to a lack of sebum , the oily substance produced to moisturize the skin and hair shaft. Over production of sebum would lead to oily skin, hair, scalp
