53 year old male has facial and hand twitch tics at the same times when overly excited, its most intense when anticipating intimacy. what are possible causes? i need ideas of what it could be to convince him to see a dr?

Accepted Answer

: Would classify within a "movement disorder".  Could represent a compensated essential tremor, a forme-fruste of Tourette's, or even paroxysmal chores-athetosis, amongst some thoughts.  Unlikely to be a profound problem, but could be treated and controlled with contemporary medications.

hi my 3 year old fell at school and hit his head on the floor. left nostril was bleeding. theres no bumps yet just bruising. nose stop bleeding. teacher said he was fine he is napping now though. should i take him to dr?

Head trauma: Just need to observe x 1-2 days. Emesis, head pain or swelling or a change in
alert status warrants an MD visit. Otherwise, rest, Tylenol for pain or fever,
and observe at home. Glad the nosebleed stopped quickly, common in kids in general.

my son is 16. his bp is really low sitting down then goes sky high when he stands up. his dr couldn't explain it. he has not been ok for months.

Seconadry HTn : Secondary causes such as pheochromocytoma, cushing , thyroid . Aortic coarctation etc should de sought. Pheochromocytoma can be accompanied with  headaches, passing out and sweating . Any time HTN is encountered at under 35 or over 65 -70yr old as a new diagnosis secondary HTN should be ruled out especially if the BP is refractory i would like to see those BP values. Good luck.

my 14 month wakes up every 2 to 3hrs  , shes always  moaning like shes in pain .it seems to be getting worse as she gets older , dr said she's ok ! ?

Can try a video: When the child wakes up at night, parents can make a video of her moaning (but do not let her know there are parents in the room, so that she won't interact with the parents). Afterwards, parents can make an appointment with the doctor again (separate from a routine check-up, because there is not enough time at a check-up to look at a video), to review the symptoms together.

ok'd by dr to exercise, but still scared due to anxieties. is it still beneficial if i do (2) 15min cardio sessions/day rather than (1) 30min session?

Yes beneficial.: Any exercise is better than none.  If two 15 minute work outs are better for you go for it.

it's been a week since my last dose. i've had to change dr due to mine leaving unexpectedly.  i have a dr appt next thursday will i be ok without it?

it seems when i injure my self i do it good but not good enough to go to dr i dropped a cart on my akeeles tenden today i took 1000 mg ibup is that ok?

Ibuprofen: Ibuprofen dose for mild pain is 400 mg every 4-6 hours as needed. Dose for anti-inflammatory use is 800 mg every 6 hours. Take the lowest effective dose. Max dose is 2400 mg/day.

65yrs old male hemoglobin 12.9 is that ok dr no concern to worry?

Normal: A hemoglobin over 10 is sufficient to function properly.  Many GP's have used Procrit (epoetin alfa) for a HgB of 10 where in the FDA has complained that at 8-9 gms someone might want medication  but at 12.9 at your age this is perfectly normal.

is it ok to eat probotic yogurts at different times to my lanzoprazol dr?

Lanzoperazol: I am unaware that you need take the probiotics at any special time in relationship to lanzoperazole. I am unaware of any reaction between the two.

since 2years on betablockers.last 3 weeks bp low (105-65).dr said ok.now since 2 days bp on 145-95.hr 60-65bpm.why these oscillations?catheterism ok

Artifact-fluctuation: Normal BP varies constantly. Depending on what conditions you check it, you will  find wide variation. Be sure all checks are at complete rest for at least 10 minutes. BP cuff should be at heart level.  Use an average of several readings. You'll still see variability, which is normal, but this will help minimize them. Good luck.
