Not good idea: First of all Doxycycline is the wrong spectrum of antibiotic for aril use.  Second, and most important, antibiotics do not cure abscessed teeth.  The drug is used to control the severity of the infection, but antibiotic will not eliminate the infected tooth material.  That has to be done with decay removal, root canal treatment, and/or extraction.  Please see a dentist for rx.

Maybe: Tetracycline type antibiotics are not the best choice for a dental abscess. He is better off with a penicillin type(amoxicillin), Erythromycin or clindamycin.

Falling creatinine: If i read your question correctly, your creatinine (c) fell from 3.0 to 1.9 mg/dl in 20 days. As your c fell, it seems as if you had acute kidney failure, not "early nephropathy". You can take Clindamycin without a dose reduction if you have kidney disease as it is not cleared by the kidneys. Speak to your doctor about the cause of your "nephropathy". Good luck.

At that point all the antibiotics in the world may not help. Get the abscess treated.

Yes: You should be concerned about an abscessed tooth because this is an infection.  An untreated infection can cause pain, swelling and can effect your entire body.  See a dentist ASAP and get this tooth treated or extracted.  Antibiotics alone will not cure this infection.

Dentist/Oral Surgeon: Do you really want to do it yourself?  Assuming the abscess is ready to drain, you need dependent drainage, ie where gravity will allow the pus to continue to drain out of the abscess.  Open (incise) the abscess at this point and keep it open.
