This is covered well: In all the atkins books.  You can follow my tips for dinners on low carb diets, but they are not phase one!  remember, phase one virtually eliminates most carbs to obtain a dietetic ketosis!

i'm one month post dor fundoplication & hernia repair. nissen couldn't be completed due to previous surgeries. i'm having lots of uncomfortable gas. i'm careful with my diet. could something like gas-x help? other suggestions?

: Try to figure out which foods make it worse and avoid them. Eat with your mouth closed. Yes Gasex is good start. If not better see your MD

Not proven: The diet says it was made at john hopkins medical school in baltimore and sponsored by general motorrs--thats the gm

but i doubt  jh or gm would ever say you can 
lose 10-17 lbs per week or that the food you eat burns more food. This diet with fruits and vegetables is probably safe, but and might permit you to lose 4 or 5 lbs in a week--it is mostly water, and then the whole diet becomes boring.

Eat fewer calories: Eating fewer calories is vital in a weight loss diet. Drinks with no calories, such as water or plain green tea, can fill one up and decrease appetite. Eating carrots, celery, or leafy lettuce (without any dressing or dips) is nutritious and also has very few calories. Avoid fats because fats have a lot more calories than protein or carbs. Whole grains are better than sugars &amp; simple starches.

Organic produce: One filled with vegetables and fruits that are in season.  Organic produce that is bought locally can help to ensure freshness.  Enjoy mother natures' gifts of the season.

Milk products, sardi: The best  way is related to a dairy products in  the diet;  but usually supplemental calciumis best  way - no mr ethan 1000 mg/day only 500 mg can be absorded at a time.

Consider this: Consider 1/4 of your plate as protein, 1/4 as complex carbohydrates such as sweet potato, corn, brown rice, 
1/4 plate as fresh vegetables and 1/4 plate as fruit. 
That is the government recommendation for a healthy eating plan.

Find cause first: You need to determine why is the SGPT level high and address that cause. At a minimum, do not use alcohol at all. For good health - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, low fat milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Do not use tobacco, alcohol, weed or street drugs in any form. 
Practice safe sex.

One Kidney Diet: You may not need a special diet for your solitary kidney, as you diet will depend if you have chronic kidney disease (ckd). People who donate one of their kidneys for to a transplant patient, have no dietary restrictions. Check with your physician, or a nephrologist, to see if you have ckd. If you do not, just eat food that is healthy and low in sodium.

Fruits and veggies: Portion control, moderation, variety and balance. Portion control is important- especially eating out where portion sizes have grown. 1/2 your plate as fresh fruits, vegetables.  Then 1/4 of plate as legumes, beans, whole grains,  and 1/4 plate as lean cuts of meat ( 3 ounces), fowl and fish, low fat dairy products,  unhealthy-are processed foods, high in animal saturated fats and processed sugar.
