Not proven: The diet says it was made at john hopkins medical school in baltimore and sponsored by general motorrs--thats the gm but i doubt jh or gm would ever say you can lose 10-17 lbs per week or that the food you eat burns more food. This diet with fruits and vegetables is probably safe, but and might permit you to lose 4 or 5 lbs in a week--it is mostly water, and then the whole diet becomes boring.
