The low potassium: is probably from the diarrhea and the dosage of ornidazole/orlfloxin probably not harmful but a call to the POISON CONTROL CENTER for exact information is my strong suggestion!

Correct: We usually do not retest for confirmation of clearance. If symptom return / not improve then it is reasonable to recheck.

Is UR wife pregnant?: You said '...having food pre.' What is pre? Please provide as much info as possible. Are you asking if it's better to take antibiotic after meals if she's on a proton pump inhibitor? Or you want to combine meds and have her take it? Is she nauseous or having dry heaves? When her stomach feels full, please explain a little more, or provide more medical history on the profile, so we can help you!

Yes and no: Fluoroquinolones including Ofloxacin are indicated to treat multiply resistant shigellosis.  However, almost all cases found in United States are susceptible to ceftriaxone.  Side effect affecting soft tissues, e.g., tendon rupture, limit the use of "floxacin" in children under 17 years of age.

hi, i was having eye pain and was prescribed ofloxacin to take with one drop in each eye every four hours for 9 days. for my first dose, because im very smart, i took 2 instead of 1 in each eye. should i be okay to continue my dose as it says?

Probably won't help: "Chronic orchitis" (or maybe epididymitis?) usually is not a standard bacterial infection; antibiotics usually don't help. If three different fluoroquinolone antibiotics have not helped, probably a fourth will make no difference. Get checked for other things, like tuberculosis, fungal infection, drug reaction, and testicular cancer. See a urologist or infectious diseases specialist. Good luck!

Yes: No problem -- OK to take them together. In the future, since you obviously have access to the internet, search "drug interactions". You'll find several websites where you can enter any combination of drugs to see if they interfere with one another in any way.

Redundant: No, if its both oral,
unless Oflox is in eye drop form, then u cud take cipro (ciprofloxacin)

Accepted Answer

No: Boils will not improve with the use of topical treatments.  They need to be soaked frequently with hot salt or boric acid in water until they come to a head and drain. If they become large they may require surgical incision and drainage. Sometimes antibiotic pills that cover staphylococcus aureus, the usual bacterial cause of boils, need to be given as well.
