Depends on: Allergy can cause eye itching, asthma, nasal symptoms and even hives .  It would depend on what organs are affected to determine what kind of treatment you may need. If it is nasal or eye symptoms, an antihistamine + decongestant may help. If it is asthma, you need to see your doctor. Getting rid of the pets would be the best solution in general.

Every person is individual, and if they have asthma, they have their own triggers that bring on symptoms. The only way to know what your baby's triggers are is to work with his doc or allergist. Can do allergy testing or avoidance/exposure tests.

what's the diff between mania & ocd?  my mom picks at her dog's fur-dog's hair is falling out now.  is that mania or ocd?  should i take the dog away?

Compulsion?: First off - a psychiatric diagnosis can't be made with this info. Mania is a state with markedly increased energy level & rapid thoughts. Obsessive compulsive disorder deals with compulsive behaviors that the person finds hard to control. If this is a compulsion- that could be a problem for the dog.  I suggest talking to her about it before making decisions about what to do with the dog.
