you did not do a very good job of describing the white spots. Where are they and are they scaly or flaky? That makes a big difference in determining what they are

A dog does not: cause white spots on skin. These lesions need to be visualized & a history needs to be obtained in order to make an accurate diagnosis. Sometimes lab testing or biopsy is necessary.
