Other : Other diagnoses include a chronic motor tic disorder and tourette's syndrome. If the eye rolling can be suppressed that would be a sign of a motor tic and if it can't be suppressed or involves loss of consciousness i would be concerned about a seizure. But most likely, a chronic motor tic disorder and possibly tourette's syndrome. The constellation of throat clearing, noises, and eye rolling would make me concerned about tourette's.

Therapeutic Target: Normal range for 25 -oh vitamin d levels varies between 30-50.  Some advocate therapeutic levels between to be between 50-80.  Usually you are put on weekly dose of 50, 000 units vitamin d2 if deficient, for 8-12 weeks, then levels re-check. Insurance is now denying payment for testing vitamin d levels. Those that utilize otc vitamin d3 take between 2, 000-5, 000 units a day.  See vitamindcouncil.Org.

Poor diet: Inadequate dietary intake can also cause low intake. Milk is supplemented with vitamin d and is a good source of vitamin d. Try eating foods that are high  in vitamin d or take a vitamin d3 and calcium supplement that has at least 400 iu of d3 and 1000-1200 mg of calcium.

there is such a thing as poisoning and toxic side effects from vitamin d excess, so please do not go along on this ride. Consult your physician for proper dosing and monitoring of your levels.

The media distort this stuff into "news" and this confuses everybody. If you have crohn's or not, consider a vitamin d supplement.
