Yes: Hyponatremia, or low blood sodium is a known and potentially very dangerous side effect of hydrochlorothiazide (hctz).  It can happen in people at any point in therapy, even if the medication had been well tolerated for years.  It tends to happen more often in the elderly.  If it occurs, once properly treated, the patient should not go back on thiazide-type diuretics again.

No BP Rx: This blood pressure medicine wears of within 24 hrs.Thats why one must take it daily.Be sure the BP comes down once you are back on your rx.

hello.  i have been prescribed hctz for about 10 years now. but, now i can not afford to go in to see my doctor for refills. i  am swollen and in pain...everywhere! what can i do to  relieve this retention?

Fluid retention: If you are just retaining fluid it should not be painful.
You may have an inflammatory disorder that needs further diagnosis.
Retention from kidney disease is soft and painless.
Diuretics should not be used for inflammation they will cause electrolyte imbalance and other problems plus they will not help much.
Please consult a nurse practitioner in your area they are more affordable.

Metabolic problem: Elevated uric acid levels besides  gout attacks ,  possibly may also lead severe systemic problems , as some times my deposit in the eyes  retinal vessels , heart muscle  blood  vessels of other critical areas , to prevent these comp,actions your doctor wants the levels down, always get hydrated drink plenty of fluids

Yes: Depakote is known to cause Visual disturbance especially with prolonged use. To establish cause of your symptoms you must be evaluated by doctor.

Spironolactone HCTZ (hydrochlorothiazide): Is not generally known to cause numbness anywhere, but that's not to say it's impossible.  But it can cause an adverse reaction that can lead to numbness.

You must discuss this with the doctor who prescribed the spironolactone/hctz.

Unlikely: It's unlikely although possible that HCTZ (hydrochlorothiazide) caused your ED. ED happens to everyone some of the time. HCTZ (hydrochlorothiazide) has a maximum half-life of 15 hours. It will be completely out of your system in 75 hours (3 days).
