Yes: Our bodies as a whole usually do a great job of self-repair; as long as there is nothing to hinder the work efforts.  Examples include poor nutrition, certain disease processes, certain exogenous substances and medications.

what foods can i eat to help the bladder heal?

Accepted Answer

Cranberry juice: Maintaining adequate fluid intake and hydration are important.  Water is usually the fluid of choice.  In addition, cranberry juice has been shown to sterilize the urine and protect from certain types of urinary tract infections.

it doesnt hurt when i pee though, i only feel pain in the bladder. what could this mean ? thank you for taking your time to answer my questions!

Still could be a UTI: Pain in your bladder, or "suprapubic pain" or pressure can be an indication of a cystitis-a bladder infection- even without dysuria (painful urination).  Please see a doctor to get your urine tested.  There are other things that can cause this complaint as well, but the first thing to rule out would be a bladder or urinary tract infection from a urinary pathogen or a STD.

suspect ic had no pain for aprox2 months will a cystoscopy still be acurate or does the bladder heal in between flares? (not had any utis)

Why do a : Procedure if no pain? You may have gone into remission! it's just a waste of money. Doubt it would show much if you have been symptom free for 2 months!

i'm female. while using public toilet or someone else toilet i pee in squat position as i don't like to touch the toilet seat. and i do this almost everyday as i often go out. i have heard it worses the bladder over time. is it true?

: No. not true. millions of people in the world pee in that position without a problem

i had botox done 4months ago it made things worse.still having very hard time urinating. what are the chances of damage to the bladder due to botox?

Not likely permanent: The good thing is that the effects of Botox is not permanent.  The effects will eventually wear off.  Generally in 4-6mo

i have a kidney stone. it was initially up towards the kidney and has since travelled down closer to the bladder. is it likely to get to the bladder if its already travelled this far? just time and water?

Accepted Answer

: That is very possible. No accurate prediction can be made without knoing the size of the stone. But with your description chances of passing it are very high. Good luck and use a strainer when you pee so that you can catch the stone and have it analyzed

i have pain in the bladder and the testicles do not hurt but when i hit them they hurt slightly and the epididymis is sometimes hard. while other times it is normal what can it be? chronic epididymitis?

: This doesn't really sound abnormal, and it's difficult to conceive of the epididymis becoming more or less indurated (hard) as you describe. Maybe you're just examining yourself too closely. Do you have reason to be anxious about your genitals? But if you're convinced it isn't normal, see a doctor. Good luck.

: It could be, see a urologist for a thorough exam and testing.

over the past week, i was diagnosed with pyelonephritis for the first time. i have endometriotic nodules in the bladder-ureter junction. is a ct with contrast the best scan to evaluate if both conditions are related in any way?

Accepted Answer

: I think urinalysis and urine culture and possibly renal and pelvic ultrasound may be preferable…Ct scan with contrast may be considered if contemplating surgery or malignancy is possible.
   Want to avoid radiation if possible.
