Soot: That is how the entrapment of partially burned or charred tobacco soiling the lungs of a smoker looks.   Look in an ashtray for a good visual analogy.

I have seen reports: that it can, although I am not sure of the mechanism, but it has to be a LOT of soda.  The major problem with lots of soda is the calories, and it is a major contributor to the epidemic of overweight, obese and diabetic individuals in the US and western world. It appears to reduce iron absorption in some people. You are far better off with water which is cheaper, healthier and doesn't affect iron.

my saturated iron levels dropped from a 25 to a 14 and my iron level went from a 95 to a 50.  i take prescription iron.  what could be wrong with me?

Not absorbing: You may not be absorbing the iron. There are safe injectable forms of iron available at this time and may be what you need to maintain your levels. This may need more attention by GI and/or Heme/Onc

Iron levels.: 7–140 ng/mL or 7–140 mcg/L.  These ranges vary from lab to lab, and your lab may have a different range for what's normal. Your lab report should contain the range your lab uses.

my blood iron level is 847 and i have a fatty liver (found on ultrasound last week) what can i do to reduce my iron levels?

This is serious: You need to find out, first of all, whether the lab was serum iron or serum ferritin. Then it needs to be determined whether you have hemochromatosis. If you do, and you are not treated by a competent physician, it will cripple and then kill you. If you also have fatty liver, maybe a check for hepatitis C, medication / alcohol effect, and perhaps getting back into a fitness-focused lifestyle.

Foods & Supplements: Plenty of sites list iron-rich foods. Some also say which are easiest for your body to make use of. Iron supplement pills are also available and some processed foods advertise that they are iron fortified. If you want to, it should be easy to increase your levels unless there is something else wrong. Don't worry - it's not likely, but if you really try and fail - ask your doctor for ideas.

iron consumption doesn't effect my iron levels. why is this?

It sould: There are some medical condition where people don't  absorb iron properly .  These are primarily disorders of the bowels, like celiac disease, however most people absorb a good percent of the iron they consume , whether in supplement or in iron containing foods. I would recommend follow up with a physician if 
you have to check if you have concerns about your ability to absorb nutrients.

once my iron levels are acceptable,i would like to maintain it (diet isn't enough), shall i take 100 mg every other day? or a regular 14mg everyday?

And a size 14 frock?: I would neither presuppose to say what size outfit NOR what does of medications everyone would need.

Both have to be measured and fitted.
Iron stores measured by ferritin.
Blood level of blood cells
Amount of growing red cells are some but not even most of the measures one can do to assess how much iron someone needs.

Low iron: See your fp/pcp for tests that may suggest the cause of your anemia (iron, iron binding capacity, ferritin, complete blood count, serum protein & albumin). Be ready to provide info about unusual bleeding: heavy periods, irregular periods, nosebleeds, rectal bleeding, coughing/spitting up blood.

iron level keep falling if i don't get iron injections, how can i stop being dependent on it?

Accepted Answer

Iron: First find out why you are losing iron faster than your diet replaces it. Then find out why you are not absorbing enough iron (gastritis, short bowel, deficient diet etc). Then correct the things  that can be corrected. The body has a means to balance this nutrient and you need to discover why it is out of balance.
