Not common: Night sweat is not a commonly listed adverse effect for melatonin.  That doesn't mean it can't cause it.  Best thing to do is to stop the melatonin and see if the night sweat goes away.  If not, then it wasn't the melatonin and you can continue searching for the cause.

Yes, there are many options mainly from Plant Estrogens ( Phyto Estrogens)  and combinations there of; like Soy Isoflavones, Black Cohosh, Estroven ...  One's PCP or Gynecologist can easily help. Menopause is considered the beginning of  Wisdom so one should approach with open Mind.

Personal Summer: Being a woman md of a certain age, this is something i can relate too.  Try to avoid excessive caffeine and salt, eat a well balanced diet.  Food triggers vary from person to person.  Some have relief with hormones- see your doc for this. Bioidentical hormones are healthhooey.  Some have relief w oil of evening primrose, avoid dong quai other herbs. My choices, clothes in layers, fan, change often.

HRT indications?: Hormone replacement therapy(hrt) is commonly advised for severe symptoms, especially hot flashes. Most other symptoms of estrogen deficiency can be managed with local applications of estrogen creams applied to the vaginal mucosa/ areas. Consult your gynecologist for further advice and proper management.

Usually, another pattern involving higher stimulation of ovarian function to facilitate ovulation will establish another long series of menstruation, but with similar symptoms pre-menstrually and pre-ovulatory.

I assume: you have been completely evaluated for these symptoms since "Perimenopause" is a bit of a "basket" to place such symptoms "somewhere" ignoring the fact that STRESS may result in the same symptoms!!!!
