It's okay...: Advil (ibuprofen) PM is okay to take with norco, however you should be careful with this combination because of the increased drowsiness.  While this may be your goal, caution is still advised because it may make you significantly more drowsy than with either drug alone.

Not unusual: Not unusual when being treated outpatient for diverticulitis to run a low grade fever for up to 48 hours after antibiotics started. If pain and fever persist beyond 72 hours, need re-evaluation. Ibuprofen with norco (hydrocodone and acetaminophen) is OK if still hurting. Thanks for trusting HealthTap!

had 2 teeth extracted abt 9 days ago. having severe pain dry socket. taking 200mg ibuprofen every 4/6hrs & norco 7.5 325tylenol every 4/6hrs for pain. after i take norco 3hrs later it wears off can i take it again on 3rd hour? or must i wait?

: Your self medication is ineffective. Post-surgical care is the province of your Surgeon. There are procedures to address dry socket that will give you substantial relief. Immediately call the General Dentist or Oral Surgeon who did your extractions. Instructions to do so are probably on the written instructions provided to you at time of surgery.

severe ha cont x 2 weeks post left upper molar extraction, had infection.  was prescribed antibiotic, advil, (ibuprofen) norco. should i be concerned?

Try a teabag: what you describe could be dry socket syndrome.  It does not respond well to antibiotics. I would place a dry teabag over the empty tooth socket and see if you get any relief. If not then yes you should check back with dentist

They are different: These two medications are metabolized in the body by different organ systems, so they will not interfere with each other or be dangerous to take simulataneously.  Taking them together may boost the pain relieving qualities of the Norco (hydrocodone and acetaminophen).  Ibuprofen, especially at high doses, should be taken no sooner than 8 hours apart.

No,not too much. But: not much more than that. The norco (hydrocodone and acetaminophen) is fine,but I would not go higher on ibuprofen dose(past 800 mg 3x/day). Hopefully, this should provide you pain relief...Hope this helps!

I would: Wait 4 hours or more.  Norco has Tylenol (acetaminophen) in it as well.  Give at least four hours between.

i have pulpotomy that i didn't get finished. infected now. prescribed norco and antibiotics. can i just mix tylenol (acetaminophen) and motrin instead of taking norco?

See your dentist: See your dentist.  It is best to have the treatment which was started completed by the dentist or specialist.  An incomplete treatment will lead to further pain and discomfort due to bacterial infection in the root of the tooth.  A root canal treatment maybe recommended with a full coverage crown following the root canal and coronal buildup.

i contacted shingles nine days ago. i am done with medication. i the pain is terrible. tylenol & motrin help slightly. can i take norco which i took for my hip replacement & have some left?

: Post shingles neuropathy is likely and it will be critical for you to let your doc know as there are specific treatments, including steroids in the acute phase that might help reducing the intensity of the pain. Taking couple of Norco (ok to) doses will only provide partial relief and you need a better medium to long term plan.
