Yeast "infection": Technically, vaginal yeast "infection" is an overgrowth problem because the natural balance between lactobacilli & yeast has been upset; common causes are antibiotics (kill the lactobacilli), diabetes (more food for the yeast), frequent douching, etc. Mycolog helps decrease the amount of yeast to restore the balance. Many variables determine how long to restore this balance/"cure the infection".

Yeast infections : Mycolog ii is an anti-fungal and is used for yeast infections. If your treatment fails to relieve your symptoms, you may have BV (bacterial vaginosis) which is usually treated with Flagyl pills/gel or Cleocin (clindamycin phosphate) cream. See your doc if your symptoms persist for an exam and testing.

2-6 weeks: It depends on the infection. For example athlete's foot is treated for six weeks while jock itch is treated for two weeks with ketoconazole. You should call your doctor to clarify the duration of treatment for your type of infection.

Needs assessment: If you have been treated for vaginal yeast with fluconazole and mycolog and the symptoms are not improving then a reevaluation is needed. The Obgyn will have to determine if something other than yeast is causing the symptoms.Once the cause is determine then a treatment can be determined

Penile rash: If the cream provided relief then you might have a simple fungal infection.  This can be resolved with antifungal topical medication.  If not, see a GP or Dermatologist to verify diagnosis.

: Best would be to see your GYN physician, as "itching" is not an isolated symptom of fungal (yeast) infections.  Additionally, if one is sexually active, and "other partner(s)" may be involved, even if the treatment used is effective, reinfection with another type of agent may occur, with similar symptoms.
